Ballard Bike Street Party

Friday, May 31

In partnership with KEXP we’ll have a live family-friendly music stage featuring local bands from 4-6 p.m., and at 6:30 p.m. you’ll have the opportunity to get up on stage and show off your riding outfit in our “Share Your Style” Fashion Show presented in partnership with Hub & Bespoke and Bern Helmets. Great prizes for all who participate!

We will also be announcing several special Bike Month awards, including Team Captain of the year and the Top School from Bike to School Day.

You’ll also be able to:

• Sample free food and beverages from Clif Bar, Nuun, and Theo Chocolate;
  
  
• Get free bike assistance from mechanics from Second Ascent and Bike Sport;
  
  
• Enjoy the official Bike Month Happy Hour party at The Balmar- great beer specials including Ballard's own Peddler Brewing Company, 5-8 p.m.;
  
  
• Saddle up and take a spin on the original beer bike - Cycle Saloon;
  
  
• Up your bike style with products from Bern Helmets, Swift Industries and Sweet Spot Skirts;
  
  
• Participate in fun arts and crafts activities (great for younger riders!);
  
  
• Learn about local bike infrastructure from SDOT and some of their community partners including the Elliot Bay Seawall Project and the SR520 Bridge Replacement and HOV Program;
  
  
• Find out how to register your Commute Challenge team for the upcoming World Bicycle Relief Red-Bell 100;
  
  
• And stop by the Cascade booth to say hi and enter to win top prizes in our free Bike Month drawing.

Schedule:

• 3:30 p.m.: Street party open!
  
• 4:15-5:00 p.m.: Live music by Tomten
  
• 5 - 8:00 p.m.: Happy Hour at the Balmar
• 5:30 - 6:15 p.m.: Live music by Country Lips
  
• 6:35 - 7:00 p.m.: Bike fashion show
  
• 7:00 p.m.: Street Party ends
  

We'll have a massive bike corral to park your ride while you check out the party, and children, pets and families are welcome at this fun, all ages event.

This event is put on in partnership with Seattle Summer Streets. Roll in after work or school to play in the streets with us!
